MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you all had a good one, and an even better year. I spent mine with my family and running after a small child, got happy on champers and was given a stack of presents [including a new car, thanks to dear ol' Dad].

So what have I been up to, you wonder? I'd be here until next year if I told you everything, but I'll list the major events.

* Moved twice {interstate and intrastate}
* Met a nice boy {whom I moved in with}
* Was attacked by an ink gun
* Spent too much money on clothes
* Avoided my family
* Went back to school
* "Danced the night away!" like Jon Fintagio.

And, it's freakin' hot at the moment.

And green is so hot right now.

It's been a very long time, no?

An explanation, of sorts. I basically abandoned the internet, this journal and all it encompasses and all my email addresses - from lack of interest, because I was avoiding people, because I was no longer the person I was painting in each entry. I I'd lost my best friend, I thought people were using the information here to hurt me, I thought I was dying, I thought the whole world was against me and woe, woe, wow.

Who was I? I don't know. Who did I become? Who I was always going to be, I guess.

It's frightfully melodramatic, but it needn't be. I had a shitful first part of the year. But, hey, here I am. Back and ready to pick up where I left off [although there are new musical loves, new fandoms and a brand new handbag...or two].

To those who think they can't talk to me, Cara especially, you can. It's time to move on and heal the wounds that were so selfishly afflicted upon myself and relationships. It's time to grow and acknowledge our own wants, our own dreams and to be excited for each other and the coming new year. It's no longer about them but us.

Because, hell, isn't that what the season is all about?

It's good to be back. It's even better to be alive. And I miss BFR, yo!

ETA: Dude! I forgot all about icons and stuff. The world is a better place now you can have 100 userpics! [damn you paid accounts]

++ [info]brynderoy, from above pictures, was in an ad for Australia's Labor party. You can download it here. He's behind the pretty blonde couple, to the right, looking unimpressed.

Quick update as I catch up on email/flist/etc, for it has been a busy weekend:

Finally, no longer shockingly pink and oh-so-from-LJ's-stock-layouts: New craptacular, slightly modified journal layout. Starring The Devil himself. I wouldn't even bother looking because it took me five minutes including time spent in Photoshop and you can tell. :D

New userinfo starring that bloke again.

In progress: 13 album fanlisting, Fettes Brot fanlisting, new Lovable Holiday layout (eventually).

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

I should apologise for the lack of commenting of late, but I haven't had much time online the past couple of days. Thanks for your comments to me the past couple of posts, I'm safe and not being chased by crazies and biffed in the club. Well, this week anyway.

Edelweißpiraten (Edelweiss Pirates, otherwise known as Bela's First Serious Film That Doesn't Involve Vampires) randomness:

Press conference at Montreal Film Festival with director Niko von Glasgow and survivor Jean Julich
Fairly interesting, if you can get past the bitchy French-Canadian host. "ENGLISH!" "ONE QUESTION AT A TIME!" And Bela's not an actor but a drummer in a pop band, thanks Niko.

Hi-Res English poster

More pictures of bald and hatted Bela at the official site, http://www.edelweisspirates.com.

I'm quite looking forward to seeing it, even if it did take 283787 years to come out. I should thank Martin Block, the PR guy for the film, who's kept me in the loop since I emailed him last year. A very nice man who is trying to get an Australian release if only for me. *thumbs up*

And Ashleigh, I love you. :D :D :D

First off - apologies to darling [info]theravensclaw. I had to miss coffee with her today because that STUPID medication. I feel like a truck as hit me, but I come on the internet to post incoherantly anyway.

Hmmm. I look at my LJ's calendar and I was posting once a week...now I'm posting everyday. I think I'm spoiling you with the Amanda Goodness.

The extent of my thinking today )

Did I need to see a fat, half-naked Ian Thorpe at age fourteen telling me how he's allergic to chlorine and representing New South Wales?
